Agra is a city in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, some 200 km from the Indian capital city of Delhi. Agra has three UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort in the city and Fatehpur Sikri nearby. There are also many other buildings and tombs from Agra's days of glory as the capital of the Mughal Empire. The sites are some of the wonders of the world and no trip to India is complete without at least one visit to the Taj. The earliest reference to Agra is in the ancient epic, the Mahabharata, while Ptolemy was the first person to call it by its modern name. Agra was the Mughal capital at one point.

(09:30 hrs.) Meet Agra tour guide on arrival – Proceed to visit Taj Mahal

On arrival at Agra, you will be received by our representative. You will be introduced with Agra tour guide. Now the Agra tour guide will take you directly to Taj Mahal. As per our standard plan the sightseeing of Taj Mahal will continue for two hours (09:30 Hrs- 11:30 Hrs).

The construction of Taj Mahal started in the year 1631 and it took approximately 22 years to build it. An epitome of love, it made use of the services of 22,000 laborers and 1,000 elephants. It was built entirely out of white marble, which was brought in from all over India and central Asia. After visiting Taj Mahal, proceed to hotel / restaurant in Agra where a sumptuous buffet lunch awaits you.

After visiting Taj Mahal, the most frequented monument of India, visit the Agra Fort built in red sandstone with its magnificent palaces. As per our standard plan the sightseeing of Agra Fort will continue for two hours (11:30 Hrs- 13:30 Hrs).

Agra Fort is built alongside the Yamuna River and stretches almost 2.5 km. It consists of a wall built in red sandstone and several buildings inside. The wall has 2 gates, the Delhi Gate and the Amar Singh Gate. The fort is surrounded by a 70 feet high wall It is home to the beautiful Pearl Mosque and Numerous palaces including the Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am and Moti Masjid Later it was used by his son Jahangir as the seat of power. With four gates the Fort is enclosed by a double barricaded wall of red sand stone. The Jahangir Mahal is reached through an impressive gateway and its inner courtyard consists of beautiful halls, profuse carvings on stone, exquisitely carved heavy brackets, piers and cross beams.

After visiting Taj Mahal & Red Fort of Agra, proceed to either 5* hotel or locally reputed restaurant in Agra where a sumptuous buffet lunch awaits you.

(14:30 hrs) Explore local market

Depending upon your wish, you can explore local market of Agra, famous for intricately carved marble products, handicraft articles, rugs, carpets and jewellery. Visit a marble factory to see the beautiful inlay of precious and semi precious stones into the marble. Normally market visit is of half an hour (14:30 Hrs- 15:00 Hrs) but depending upon your wish, it can be reduced, removed or elongated.

Now, drive back to Delhi. Agra tour guide will accompany you and take you to Baby Taj. Sightseeing of Tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daula will take about one and half hour (15:00 Hrs to 16:30 Hrs). Known also as Baby Taj, the Tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daula is built in white marble and predates Taj Mahal.

After visiting Baby Taj, drive back to Delhi is scheduled. After sightseeing tour of Agra, drive to Delhi.

On arrival at New Delhi, you will be dropped at the airport to board onward flight or transferred to hotel of your stay.
