Day 7 Jaipur exploration – Delhi
At the break of dawn, around 6:00 AM, begin your immersive morning walk tour in Jaipur, guided by a local expert. This enriching experience leads you through the city’s most authentic corners—its bustling flower, vegetable, and milk markets, a visit to the revered Govind Dev Ji Temple for morning aarti, and a taste of its legendary street food.
The journey starts at the fragrant ‘phool mandi’, Jaipur’s colourful flower market. Amid the scent of marigolds, jasmine, and roses, vibrant hues and lively chatter fill the air. From here, move towards the nearby ‘sabji mandi’, where a delightful chaos of vegetables and vivid produce unfolds. Agile women balance large baskets on their heads, weaving gracefully through crowds.
Next is the ‘doodh mandi’, Jaipur’s traditional milk market. Farmers from distant villages bring fresh, unpasteurized milk, using age-old methods to test its richness. Though rustic, it’s a glimpse into a culture that honours freshness and simplicity.
As the markets awaken, delight your palate with aloo samosas, syrupy jalebis, and steaming masala chai from a renowned street vendor. Return to your hotel for breakfast and rest before your heritage excursion begins.
Post-breakfast, visit Jal Mahal on the banks of Man Sagar Lake. Once a royal duck-hunting lodge, its floating elegance amidst the Aravalli Hills is picture-perfect. Proceed to Amber Fort, a majestic blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, accessed by an elephant ride to the hilltop entrance. Built by Raja Man Singh I and completed by Jai Singh I, the fort’s rugged exterior hides a palace of ornate grandeur.
Conclude your exploration with a visit to the 16th-century Panna Meena ka Kund. This intricate stepwell, designed for rainwater harvesting, features a brilliant geometric pattern that confounds first-time visitors.
After lunch, depart for Delhi, arriving by late evening for overnight stay at your pre-booked hotel.
